Freshwater Webinar – Digital twin for a river basin

Digital twins are making their way into our common vocabulary and knowledge of them is increasing. In the Freshwater Competence Centre and particularly the Green-Digi-Basin project we aim to build a digital twin for a river basin. Come listen to two presentations and take part in a discussion regarding digital twins.

The presentations will be

• Debasish Pal, University of Oulu- Digital Twin for a river basin: theory and concept development
• Anna-Kaisa Ronkanen, SYKE:   Opportunities of Digital Twin to new generation water resource management: current status and future steps.

This webinar presents how the definition of a digital twin can be applied to river basins and what elements are required for a digital twin. In addition, the webinar will provoke reflection on what is needed to build a digital twin and why existing catchment-level models are not sufficient.
